Well done to Vlad who got up early last Sunday to go and compete in a tennis competition with his friend Oli over in Frome. Although the boys did not win the double, Vlad did win the singles competition. Great stuff and I am sure there will be more of the same in the summer.

Welcome back after half term

What a busy first week back! On Friday evening we hosted all of the year 12 boarders and had great fun playing some games and eating chicken and mango wraps.
The year 11 boys are coming to the end of their mocks - best of luck to them all. Enjoy looking through some of the photos of some of the things we have been getting up to so far in November...

Extended Project Evening

The year students showcased their Extended Projects last night. The hard work was evident for all to see and I am sure the students will get the marks they deserve. Veleslav's project looking at the work of Kanye West was fascinating; Charlie's design of a sustainable house intriguing; Jack's project about the influence of money in the Premier League interesting and Max's comparison of David Lynch's "Twin Peaks" and Dennis Potter's, "The Singing Detective" compelling. Well done to all who attempted the project but particularly well done to the Hall boys!

Making dens

Great fun was had by the boarding community this weekend after Middle challenged Hall to a den building competition. The boys braved the weather to create some awesome dens in the Westwood woods.

Welcome and welcome back

Welcome to our new Hall House boys and welcome back to our old boys! As is the norm for Kingswood, we have hit the ground running and already feel like we have been back several weeks when in reality it is less than a week. Our new boys have settled in superbly especially after participating in House music today. Well done to the all who were involved in the ensemble that won after performing a great rendition of "Don't Stop Believing". Sadly, we gave up our crown of House Song winners after holding it for two years - congratulations to Middle House who won with their version of Abba's  "Gimmee, Gimmee, Gimmee". The most important thing was a fun evening and day was had by all.
Well done to all of the boys who competed in the first round of rugby fixtures this term. In a series of matches against local rivals KES there were wins for the seconds, U16 A and B teams and also the U14 A and B teams too. A great start to the season.

Leavers' Ball

At the end of the year we said farewell to our year 13s. As is traditional, the end of their time here was celebrated with the Leavers' Ball in Summerhill Mansion. All the very best to our boys as they move on to the next chapter in their lives.
Mr Forrester also left us this year after eight years of being our Resident Assistant Housemaster. He moves with his family to Thailand to take up the post of Head of EAL at Rugby International School. The very best of luck to you Foz! Thank you - you will be missed.

Last week

Another busy week comes to an end. A huge round of applause for all of the boys who took part in the fantastic junior production of "Bugsy Malone" last week. Each night the students performed to a packed, very hot audience in the Kingswood Theatre and looked like they were having tremendous fun. It was great to see future Hall House boys Oli, Kit, Matthew and Peter involved. We look forward to welcoming these talented boys to the house in September. For photographs of this amazing production, go to the house twitter page @KWS_HallHouse

A group of year 10 boys went on the beach trip today kindly organised by Mr Chua and Miss Wright. It looks like they had a great time.

KATS - The Music and Drama awards

A great night was had at the fifteenth annual KATS awards on Saturday night. It was a superb event with great food, entertainment and above all recognition of some outstanding performances and contributions to the arts at Kingswood over the last 12 months. It was thrilling to see how many Hall boys were nominated in these awards and we were exceptionally proud of Henry and James who both won awards. Below are a selection of photographs from what was a memorable night.
