It was a great end to the term which we celebrated in style with a bit of ice skating in Victoria Park and then a meal with the girls and staff from Fonthill House at Jimmy's World Grill.
We also had a superb Christmas meal cooked by the fantastic catering department on the 13th December.
Congratulations to our boys on a superb term. Easton, John and Jamie gave us a round up of the past few months where we were able to say well done to so many of the Hall boys for their achievements. Ollie in the sixth form was awarded his full colours for rugby and Tom won the Hall House rugby player of the season for the second time. Well done to the many boys who were involved in the senior production of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" on stage and off.
Best wishes for Christmas and the new year and I hope you enjoy looking through the photos below,

Happy Advent
This weekend not only saw the start of our advent celebrations but also the Year 10 and 11 Ball which was held on Saturday evening. The boys looked resplendent in their best suits as you can see below. They reported that the food was fantastic and the company great. Whilst the boys from these years enjoyed the Ball, Miss Wright and Mr Davies very kindly took the year 9 boys to see the superb film, "Wonder" which they all reported was wonderful (no pun intended!)
The advent service and dinner on the first Sunday in December is always a superb occasion when the whole boarding community comes together. We were treated to a fitting service lead by Reverend Hull in which John our Head of Boarding read, followed by a gorgeous meal cooked by our amazing Catering Department.
There will be lots to report on over the last week and a bit of the term starting with this week's performance of the Senior Production, "The Lion the With and the Wardrobe". I will do my best to keep posting pictures to keep you all up to date with everything that happens as we draw closer to the most wonderful time of the year!

Harry's birthday
It was Harry's birthday yesterday and thanks to his mum, the boys in the house enjoyed a mini birthday party with various varieties of crisps, fizzy drinks, sausages, mini scotch eggs, sausage rolls and cakes - real birthday food!! Mr Harding somehow overlooked the actual birthday cake which will now be shared out this evening. It is always nice to extend a birthday!

House rugby
Last weekend the boys in years 9 and 10 represented Hall in the house matches. I was exceptionally proud of all of them. Both year groups comfortably beat Upper house in their first games but lost to Middle in their second match to hand the crown to them for this year. Congratulations to Middle but also well done to all of the boys who wore the Hall House badge with pride.

Pizza Express with the 6th form
On Friday 29th September, the year 13 boys along with the girls from Fonthill went for a meal at Pizza Express. It was a fun evening where we enjoyed each others company and lovely food! It was also an opportunity for Mrs Sergeant and I to say thank you to the year 13s for the work they have done so far as House prefects.

Circuit of Bath Walk
Since we have been back, many of the boys have kept themselves very busy with not just their academic studies but also lots of activities. Today was the Circuit of Bath Walk raising money for Julian House, one of the local Hospices.
Below are photographs of just some of the ways in which the boys have kept themselves busy. Enjoy!

Welcome Back
Welcome back to all of the boys and WELCOME to our new students. Whilst the weather has not been great the atmosphere and camaraderie in the house certainly has been. We have nine new boys to Kingswood joining us in Hall this year along with the year 9 boys who have all come up from Westwood and they have all already made an impact. Reuben and Charlie both represented the school at rugby on the weekend, Reuben scoring on his debut against KES in a convincing win and Charlie being given Man of the Match in the second team's narrow loss to the same school. All of the boys then contributed towards House Music earlier today and as last year, WE WON! A massive well done to all who took part and huge thank you to our sister house Fonthill for being such an integral part of the winning team.
I hope to update the blog regularly so please keep checking for news and stories of house events over the following weeks. Next weekend the year 9 and 12 students go camping and there are sure to be some great stories and photos to share. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy some of the photographs below from our victorious evening tonight at House Music!

Visitors from Peponi School
We welcomed a touring cricket team from Peponi School, Kenya this weekend and hosted them in Hall House on Friday and Saturday night. They were great company and enjoyed one loss and a narrow win over our year 10 team on Friday evening in a couple of 10/10 matches. Good luck as you move onto the next leg of your tour boys.

This weekend
Another busy weekend when the boys have been involved in tennis fixtures, circket matches, athletics meets and the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh tour. The weather has been glorious and we look forward to seeing some of the photographs from the D of E expedition. As the sun shone it was another chance to enjoy a barbecue!
